Bob Straton Bald Trail
Joyce Kilmer Wilderness Area

Flame
Azalea
The orange
flowers of the Flame Azalea can be viewed at the higher elevations
for only a brief period of time. During the month of June these flowers
burst into bloom at approximately the same time that the rhododendron
also show their flowers. This photo was taken on the Stratton
Bald Trail in the Joyce Kilmer Wilderness. Gregory Bald in
the Smokies is another popular spot for viewing these beautiful blooms.
Ask me about both trails, I love to talk about hiking! |
