Directions for Snowbird, Joyce Kilmer & The Cherohala Skyway

Robbinsville is the nearest town to this remote hiking area. Robbinsville has not seen the tremendous growth that the rest of North Carolina has in recent years. When you visit Robbinsville it is much as it was twenty years ago. This is a nice surprise for the first time visitor. The atmosphere is friendly and folksy. The  pace is slow and the accents are definitely mountain.

The last stop for groceries and supplies, Robbinsville is  100 miles from Asheville.
