Fall 2004 Closures
The late summer and early fall has brought a great deal of
damage to our trails and roads in the Southern Appalachians.
The recent Tropical depressions and remnants of hurricanes
have wreaked a type of havoc on our trails and roads that
has not been seen in this lifetime.
For the third week in a row, I have been greeted at the trail
head with what is now a familiar sign; "Trail Closed".
Before you go, check with the appropriate agency to insure
that your hiking destination is not restricted. Below you
will find the contact numbers that you need.
