The
Art Loeb Trail
A
view from the Art Loeb Trail in the Shining Rock Wilderness. This
30 mile trail starts in the lower elevations of Pisgah National
forest and climbs to it's termination on the 6000 foot Cold Mountain.
It showcases the bio-diversity that is unique to the North Carolina
mountains. It begins in a southern hardwood forest and ends in a
boreal forest that is more commonly seen in southern Canada. The
views along the way are breath-taking, making this one of the top
ten hikes in the North Carolina mountains.
