The crest of the Great Smoky Mountains
Mount Cammerer, the high point
in the background, has a light dusting of snow. I started
the day hiking on the Appalachian Trail near there, high in
the Smokies. The trail was covered in snow and it was quite
chilly.
When I descended into the lower elevations, the temperature
was a balmy seventy five degrees. Unlike high in the Smokies,
the trees here had leaves.
I looked over my shoulder and took this shot of where I began
hiking that morning. |
